Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
+ x% n( @" i& U1 c6 N1 { Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
5 J. Z; S$ ]8 P7 r. B  c Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
' T, H( r' v- I/ V) i& {, Y4 q, ?2 R Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
. P# B1 @+ w1 w1 ~ Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
6 P& F/ D4 w. f4 W+ f( h& }. G Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

; t/ p" m) h% v4 L* v1 f1 n Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
6 @7 x* e+ i9 g) w* @! T Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
/ Z! `3 ?) X* o# m/ v: P: m Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
6 W& k7 S# I6 h: h3 J+ \ Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
. ]5 M! M0 Z9 O: x8 ~7 vThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
