The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.; A7 }- q+ D# h9 r

& F! w2 P5 n3 h+ v3 _/ b• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
) }4 n' o: l8 c5 U4 g: R• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
+ j$ H& ?; P \4 k% M# g6 W• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge C7 N6 O9 Q1 q) n% ?
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills., D- ]' M+ ^" a7 ~6 e: [
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
; V' z+ W' E2 u7 ^# r; V• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.) `* V# G% p. ~6 z
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
! L% g) E @5 \( S* I8 L3 f• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities0 `! ]$ L' i' D& e
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
2 j, g5 U2 Z4 F6 L8 c, f( ]5 U9 a, n0 ?/ z• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up/ j' E( K. Y; J4 E+ d% V2 R
) H* y/ j; z! O1 H g' X6 a( s& NADMINISTRATION
1 L" Y* k2 u6 B, Z# }( b3 R4 r• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position/ A9 q) k8 e1 R2 p: u- C
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
6 D: Q3 Q# ~. D• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
7 K" @8 W+ t2 b k0 u4 Z( [; q• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department: T% T$ @5 G6 G$ }9 V
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
! W9 C! N8 }) Q+ Q• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency3 L/ X3 R) I/ G* p# W- l
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services, e7 t7 ` F* s) N/ e4 G
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes- ]: B5 \5 l1 p
• Prepare a regular monthly program report

FINANCE
# B1 U! I- |- X# b1 V0 }9 D9 ?3 L• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances8 r' a) l: z! W1 G
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required
5 v# Z% n" _7 }: ^4 u/ n5 o! `/ d" G4 K5 D+ r/ J8 v1 c. G. R
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS# ]4 l) x' c( K c+ H
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers* | ^+ |3 y1 [( T) h
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
0 s [" U0 K2 B8 ^• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
0 `5 D9 t" o; O1 {8 j' X9 z• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications: `5 v; |/ w4 x1 w! s! [4 m
. y" O3 ]' J. G8 k0 o1 ~• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination: r8 B/ A: B R4 N
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability1 p; |* C2 P# \* {* m
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
7 n4 z: e: J8 n& M• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills $ T' x% ~2 q$ p! D$ ]
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure/ f( J- ^0 S1 r1 K7 K9 M
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 0 y8 h/ u8 t* ?' W
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
