Responsibilities
  _/ k  Y- A+ z0 r1 M. H Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
) v8 y  p  i6 v% k Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
* K9 Z' T$ X3 @  }$ S6 `4 m Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
0 i0 ~6 R9 X; \ Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
# Y  N3 _: {" h  f5 D# { Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

/ Z) x- c8 E) k; }5 UQualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
- F) }( F2 s1 D* w$ b: S Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
$ |; D, p" G, l* l* o7 a Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
; z4 ^7 K1 B  K& L6 ~3 g( @ Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
