1 d4 j, J: V  K$ g- O) CPosition Abstract: The Moving Ahead Program Support Worker is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of social recreation based activities for adults who live with mental illness and who have a wide range of intellectual, social, and emotional needs with varied levels of functioning.

- \0 j! [* v, X* G  A6 m: |9 MThis position also provides coordination and support to the Snack Shack, a social enterprise operated by the Moving Ahead Program (MAP). The MAP Support Worker is involved in planning, implementing and evaluating program content. The successful candidate will provide training, support and supervision to program participants who work in the Snack Shack along with data entry and inventory management. This individual uses problem-solving, resource development and conflict resolution skills.

2 v) V: W" y+ {# cThe ideal candidate will be a recent graduate from a post-secondary human services program with a minimum of one year of experience in mental health and/or group facilitation or equivalent.

/ ]7 S7 M. W; XAssets to the position are outstanding interpersonal and group leadership skills, an understanding of psycho-social rehabilitation and the ability to apply these principles. Knowledge of mental health programs and services along with the ability to network with local organizations are essential. The successful candidate works well in a team environment and has some ability to perform basic bookkeeping and word processing tasks. Registration in applicable professional association may be required.
