T.A.N.G. Youth Program is an educational and activity-based program aiming to equip
' z2 D. ^: T8 k3 ^( K* Y4 eAsian youth to make healthy and safe choice. Recreational challenges, volunteering
& Y; X" S9 v% S4 F) ^opportunities, leadership training, as well as educational sessions on
8 v; ~! N5 I Y# ?; @4 ?4 u- yinterpersonal skills, anger management, personal development, % T: o. d0 s3 l/ M2 v8 o7 c
and Canadian-Asian culture are some of the ways in which this goal is achieved.

Each session presents concepts through interactive activities that encourage active discussion and participation.- E& B6 e5 [. o- G" |1 r& V* y3 U* v

 Explore personal interests in arts and recreation

 Develop self-confidence and problem solving skills

Program Schedule:$ c& H5 m) i6 i
Regular Spring and Fall Group Sessions: runs on alternate Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.
8 \9 A4 { A' z, JSummer Group Sessions: 2 consecutive weeks in July from 9 to 5 p.m. daily
8 \3 o4 F% S L# ^/ s! k% r 2 consecutive weeks in August from 9 to 5 p.m. daily5 ~/ h) Z# k. x. }' c

Who can participate?
8 s' N5 a5 m6 | b# R8 NAsian youth aged 11 to 15, who are new immigrants or locally born Asian living in Edmonton or surrounding area.

What is the cost of joining the T.A.N.G. program?* S! ^% b9 A k8 |1 |$ K+ Q
It is FREE and space is limited to 15 to 20 participants per group.

Volunteer’s Duties:
0 o6 F2 q+ e/ V% q [* b! j$ R8 f# I, c! M
 Distribute promotional flyers to schools, churches, communities and social services agencies
7 t5 P/ N: x9 _7 Q, B* i Facilitate and/or coordinate activity-based function such as to host a gym day or sport tournaments or workshop on personal growth development 4 u4 S) |/ l3 `# ~/ E( V$ s
 Facilitate or assist in ice-breakers and/or other activities9 U# t: r2 w0 F' H8 W$ D- \) {. }0 S
 Facilitate or assist in small group discussions
4 Q9 j# I8 d I) Q# E! W% Y* y Research activities related to the sessions’ topic
. d0 |3 I& X; b1 Z$ ]6 g Enforce safety rules during program sessions and fieldtrips% E ^; H& a, J) @( u
 Assist in program planning

: ]! T. A. ]% E# s2 C On-going volunteers (we have volunteers dedicated themselves to the program for almost 4 years)
1 d# X5 v: f! n One time volunteers: minimum commitment is one seasonal session, i.e. 8 – 10 sessions in Spring, Fall or Summer
