Position Title:  Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker0 p; _; o& z5 l0 H5 l# k0 A' E; y/ r
Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

, L3 y, L' A9 h" M; X•        Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person6 ?8 g% o' I6 v$ Q5 m- _
•        Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST# @! q! U4 A  c% C/ ~
•        Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
- T& {/ x0 d# J/ l0 b1 S•        Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter% m0 n. s7 Z: r8 O9 d
•        Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
% c, s- d2 X3 U% O2 I; d/ l: T/ s$ y; C$ Q•        Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker* [1 g4 U- o- A) Q: |
•        Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events- i8 I/ ?5 K0 _5 z. {8 z1 o. t
•        Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events$ m+ i" I6 y* t: Q; ?, a* S% L" p
•        Keep the reception area tidy and clean- m9 Y; Y% C. g$ q1 v
•        Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters
) H5 b# N! ^: \% N( B•        Maintain front counter service files
: k0 Z3 ?& t" N9 t7 f•        Perform general office duties as assigned3 {, Q, e# Y/ W/ J4 c
•        Report to ISP Program Manager

/ h2 g$ x- g: x0 m0 _6 W. G•        Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
; ?! Z) y0 b9 K( o•        Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset% b3 L1 J: d4 V5 z
•        Good English writing and oral communication skills
! q% ^4 c# o6 e( I' G- f% y•        Ability to work with newcomers and general clients8 |" g. x2 s( S7 m1 j
•        Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

•        Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds$ Q6 u! B7 H9 J$ I1 @5 K9 o6 y
•        Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment2 l& y! s0 k6 R
•        Knowledge of immigrant services) u6 F5 e0 |) \3 T

Qualifications:
4 ?: \: [. Y/ f5 l•        2-4 years of office and clerical experience # E/ u& V7 z) }% }
•        Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
8 z2 B+ `! ~4 ]) y* Q•        Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
4 P: s2 a6 G& u; [•        Ability to work well under minimal supervision3 ^: n, t) z: Q3 D8 g  K2 K
