Reporting to the Team Lead for Drilling and completions, the Senior Drilling Engineer will perform all aspects of well design including; Casing and Tubing Design, Mud Systems, Fluid Hydraulics, Primary and Remedial Cementing, Specialized Technical Software for tubular design and effect improvements in drilling efficacy., n* o# o9 I; H5 o" [* W1 Z6 v

Must be proficient with technical software, specifically related to drilling engineering e.g. stresscheck
8 h2 ~ B R7 K: T8 jFor each well, confirm casing/tubing stress analysis, mud/hydraulics programs, cementing program, collision avoidance criteria0 Y4 `% ]- z9 {
Prepare Drilling Program, Basis of Design, ADW and other special operations programs as required in the course of the operation ' {: U6 w3 D% w3 n9 k* p
Steward to the recently implemented Well Delivery Model for Suncor including multi discipline peer reviews and post well reviews
8 x0 S. _* q% D7 I# o' ~Prepare End of Well Report which details cost analysis, operation analysis and provides recommendations for continuous improvement
! ^/ m7 M) B s0 V; M' f/ dPrepare technical specifications to be used in tenders for materials, services and equipment used in the drilling operations 7 @, l+ [/ _ ^
Stays abreast of current technology and Best Practices within and industry and recommend the application of new technology
9 G1 j/ d( k5 V3 ^4 v- w1 G& N' E) fPrepare management of change for drilling programs as needed3 v" S& l/ ^# g3 h8 ]6 G2 U
Communicate regularly with the cross discipline members of the NAO Team on progression, lessons learned cost and efficiency improvements as well as investigation on operational setbacks3 b D T- y, J# K4 c* S
Mentor junior staff( b* a' R/ o0 K$ ^) c
Participate in cross company technical forums on drilling and completion technology

8 r! Q/ f6 I. d* W' U1 QThe preferred candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA+ i/ l, x$ @, I$ a7 C$ {
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word & Excel as well as casing design software such as Stresscheck or equivalent5 y6 M% _5 k2 `" o+ R0 L0 T/ S
Service company or oil company drilling or completions operations experience preferred
