Job description
- v$ K& k: o$ u* H4 e' t! G/ DStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and2 u8 t7 l" V4 j) O8 }( h
weekend hours.
1 d5 D& j5 ~. y( O$ h/ s7 eYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
% R3 c$ y7 b- o+ Ylab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the6 ~3 o' L$ ?7 ?% M& Q |
centre.
. I( k1 a$ m# F" e; n: aThese responsibilities include:/ I6 b; z5 s Y, f
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
6 v+ r4 w7 H) ?% x# ]# s# r! l# C-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
& J5 X2 U0 Y+ |-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and( e3 a0 e8 @. l; e" B, T
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
5 n: U; n+ z3 ~. I3 d: y3 hfacilities’ maintenance, etc.
( y8 F/ m8 R) C2 U& Q-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic 5 ]7 J& M4 i+ @* w: M7 q+ Z
clients’ files etc.

Education:
' y }( p8 C, k9 F0 \9 d-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, 6 U. h1 y, w/ d7 {8 ]5 c6 [; q
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
6 K! l# N8 P4 o% S& L3 p) `of education, training and /or experience.
( P& s$ D! Z9 ]/ R3 mKnowledge/Technical competencies:, L7 R1 x: Q* b! E4 }3 O
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
0 K* l, u) |, \. q }6 a6 e6 v-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
* O) T/ @2 H3 f6 Vand Excel.
2 @/ h( t& p1 ?* t-Experience using and updating an information database. K& j2 N2 d4 k' Q1 ?

-Experience in using MS Access.* o8 X8 T2 o$ A; w! c+ j/ {
-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
