As part of the City of Edmonton’s Newcomer Internship Program, we are seeking 3 highly motivated internationally trained Project Engineers with work experience directly related to the field of transportation engineering.

9 t% F9 u) \: s6 ]$ @The Transportation Department offers a challenging opportunity for an enthusiastic engineer to administer, coordinate, and undertake transportation infrastructure projects. Working with a team of technologists and consultants, specific responsibilities include;
3 r0 J7 x+ S: L, d' x- l$ V; R2 k9 p3 K3 {7 ?- o' x/ F
• Designing transportation infrastructure projects including roadways, interchanges, walkways, and bridge rehabilitation.
7 j8 D6 Q" ?4 ^8 Z& F# K! j, S. x• Coordinating the design of multi-disciplinary roadway projects with various stakeholders including other City Departments, environmental agencies, utility owners, design consultants, and other outside organizations.
5 O+ H. H2 Q# {• Administering land acquisition, railway crossing improvements, and pipeline related issues.

• Organizing and attending public meetings regarding transportation projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:* Z2 q# L$ N( e
• International Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with coursework in transportation engineering or geometric design
% J# f' R9 k1 {8 B• Minimum of 4 years progressively responsible engineering experience" L6 o2 | P% }& F
• Working towards APEGGA licensure
( |1 t* `. O, L, H. j• Effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment overall score of 7)7 i9 o, W7 D, r' O7 D5 r
• Proven project management, presentation, and negotiation skills" e! y, a2 f+ B8 r$ r) x: S
• Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications 6 [, a) S3 b- y6 g1 H0 N
• Knowledge of CADD including Microstation is an asset

91M, Salary Grade: 109, $52,232.22 - $74,616.36 (Annually).
